HEADLINE: our monetary goal this year is $20,000!
From Patricia:
Please Note-I am on the road for the next year and so we have a new address for mail in donations and packages.
Things have changed a bit for Penny Lane, the beneficiary organization for all of the Be A Santa activities. The kids had traditionally live in group homes with volunteers, six kids to two adults per home. Due to an overall reduction in funds combined with COVID lockdown last year, many homes had to close. The kids live in some group homes and some with foster families, many of whom have children of their own, and it’s been a challenge, as you can imagine. Where BaS used to benefit 100 kids, now we’re looking to support 400 or 500 in these families!
Penny Lane is in the process of preparing Thanksgiving Day dinners for all of the families that have taken the kids in. It’s a logistical challenge, but we’re all pulling together to get it all done!
We do get to return to in person celebrations! Huzzah! So we will provide funds for holidays gatherings once again.
The goal is an ambitious $20,000. I KNOW WE CAN DO IT because YOU ARE THE BEST SANTAS IN THE WORLD! You show up every year and give to these kids that don’t get holiday celebrations otherwise, and I have full confidence that we’ll get it done again this year.
Nydia at Penny Lane asked us specifically to help raise the funds for a gift card for each family. We can take gifts at the address we will provide for you.
Head over to https://beasanta.org/ and look in the lower right-hand side of the page for the donation widget. Every penny goes to the children, for gifts and food.
And please share this post with everyone in your network. Getting the word out is a really big deal, and we appreciate everyone posting!
It makes a HUGE difference!
